The Doubleclicks, Sammus and Jonathan Mann perform an evening of indie, cross-genre nerdy-flavored music on June 27 at Babycastles games and culture collective in New York. The all-ages show will begin at 7pm (doors at 7, show starts at 7:30 sharp). The cover is a $10-$15 sliding scale (pay what you can). SAMMUS (Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo) is an Ithaca, NY based rap artist, producer, and PhD student in the Department of Science & Technology Studies at Cornell University. Labeled the “rap Aisha Tyler” by MTV Iggy for her intelligent lyrics, Sammus has built a following within the underground hip hop scene and has become one of the faces of black female geeks within the growing nerdcore hip hop movement.
