"The friendliest variety show in town"--The Portland Mercury
NerdNightOut is Portland's semi-regular evening of nerdy comedy & music, hosted by Portland's the Doubleclicks with talented musicians and comedians both locally and from around the country.
Talk with other attendees by RSVP-ing on Facebook!
This month's NerdNightOut guests include:
Marian Call is a singer-songwriter based in Juneau, Alaska, who has made a name for herself with quirky, clever songs about spaceships, beer, Jane Austen, and avocados. She has played in all 50 United States, and all across Canada and Europe, on the power of grassroots support from a large and growing online fanbase. She has played on the Jonathan Coulton Cruise, and she has toured with w00tstock and the Ladies of Ragnarok (The Doubleclicks and Molly Lewis), warming the hearts of comic shop denizens across the country. Listen for free or learn more at MarianCall.com!!
Josh A. Cagan (@joshacagan) likes his wife, his couch, and any movie with "Switchblade" in the title. His 2009 movie BANDSLAM didn't have the word "Switchblade," but he and 90% of the top critics on Rotten Tomatoes liked it anyway. He was the head writer of MTV's 2001 series "Undergrads," which still enjoys a cult audience in Canada. His adaptation of YA novel THE DUFF made 2011's Black List, and is currently in development at CBS Films with McG producing. He's the co-creator & writer of Paul & Storm's LEARNINGTOWN for Geek & Sundry, and his podcast, LIKE I'M AN IDIOT, can be heard mostly bi-weekly on the Mule Radio Network (@MuleRadio). He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, their stuffed animals, and an actual dog.
And, as always, Portland's own Doubleclicks!
This is an all-ages show with some thematic material (aka a few curse words), recommended 16+.
Beer & wine will be available for purchase.
